If you’ve watched some of my YouTube videos, you already know a bit about me – but here’s a little more about why I do what I do.
I’m Kate, and I’ve been living as an expat in Indonesia since December 1982. Yep, that’s over 40 years of navigating life, work, relationships, and personal growth in a country that once felt completely foreign – but quickly became my adopted home.
I’m an introvert at heart, and believe it or not, life overseas has actually made it easier for me to live in alignment with who I truly am.
I started out teaching academic English to Indonesians who dreamed of studying in Canada, the US, the UK, or Australia. After 15 years of that, I became a tour director for 18 years all over the world – yes, introverts can be tour directors! (Spoiler alert: I’ll be sharing how that worked in some upcoming YouTube videos.)
What I’ve learned over the years is this – living abroad isn’t about running away. It’s about finding your space, your rhythm, your true self.
That’s why I created this checklist and started sharing everything I know with fellow expat wannabes – both introverts and extroverts who are craving something more.
